Rod Stewart To Perform With The Faces

For Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

Rod Stewart is set to perform with The Faces at their upcoming induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Loveable lads about town, The Faces came to define boozy British rock in the early 70s. Lead singer Rod Stewart left to pursue a solo career, and has only rarely performed with his old cohorts since.

A potential re-union last year saw Rod Stewart replaced with Mick Hucknall, who sang with The Faces on a handful of dates. Now though, the remaining members are set to re-unite in full for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Original bass player Ronnie Lane sadly passed away in 1997, but the band will reform and celebrate his memory. Speaking to Music Radar, drummer Kenney Jones explained that The Faces will re-unite for a show at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

“We all had dinner about a month ago and decided that the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame would be the perfect time and place” he said.

As for potential future shows, Kenney Jones remained in a positive frame of mind. “We’ll just have to see how it goes. I’d like to think there’s more to come, although it depends how everyone’s individual schedules are shaping up. But we’re all really looking forward to getting up on stage again, it’s been far too long.”

Fancy a career overview chat with The Faces’ legendary guitarist Ronnie Wood? Of course you do! Thankfully, ClashMusic sat down with the musician back in 2007 to dissect his work with The Faces, The Rolling Stones and more.
