RockNess Weather Update

Rain on Monday...

The latest weather reports are in, with RockNess campers set to suffer overnight rain on Sunday.

Ah, Scotland. A country where fifteen different types of rain can fall in one day, but if the sun shines for one minute it makes everyone’s weekend. With RockNess set to kick off tomorrow (June 10th) campers are desperate to find out the latest weather reports.

Set in the village of Dores, RockNess is notoriously difficult to predict. The festival is situated in a Highland valley, with the combination of steep hills and of course the loch itself creating its own sub-climate.

However the BBC weather team have been studying the latest data to give an accurate prediction of prevailing weather trends.

The site opens tonight (June 9th) with RockNess apparently wet under foot but the ground is holding up well. According to our sources the sun is shining, with the final preparatory work under way.

Tomorrow morning (June 10th) the site opens to visitors with the BBC predicting sunny spells. Temperatures will hit a maximum of 14 degrees Celsius, although light wind may well make it feel cooler.

Saturday is already shaping up to be a cracker, with Kasabian due to headline RockNess. Temperatures will dip slightly with highs of 13 degrees Celsius although the campsite will be a mild 7 degrees Celsius overnight.

Sunday (June 12th) will close RockNess, with the weather predicted to be slightly damp. Clouds overhead, with the BBC predicting that the site could suffer light showers during the day.

Closing with a set from Paolo Nutini, RockNess may end on a damp note. The BBC weather team are predicting heavy rain on Monday, with the possibility of an overnight downpour not being ruled out.

The ClashMusic team are set to be on site tomorrow (June 10th) so expect full updates including fresh news, reviews, interviews and surprises!
