RockNess Want You!

New student scheme unveiled

The organisers of RockNess have unveiled a new scheme to offer two students a once in a lifetime chance.

Set in the stunning countryside of the Scottish Highlands, RockNess has grown to become one of the most anticipated events on the summer calendar. Matching a warm atmosphere with some stunning one off performances, the event has grown in stature over the course of just four years.

This summer organisers have teamed up with AEG Live to offer two students a once in a lifetime opportunity. The lucky winners will get to work on the festival, before being whisked down to London for a six month placement with AEG Live – one of the biggest live music companies on the planet.

The two winners will act as RockNess ambassadors between now and June, helping to promote the festival in a variety of fun filled ways. Assisting the growth of one of Europe’s most exciting new events, the young entrepreneurs will join forces with some of the most influential people in the music industry.

Of course, when the big day comes round the two winners will also be working alongside some stellar musicians. The Strokes have already confirmed a headline slot, breaking a silence that has lasted some three years.

Joining them on the bill are Leftfield, who will play their first show in ten years at the Dores festival site.

Festival director Jim King revealed his excitement at the new project:

“I can’t think of a better opportunity for anyone looking to get a head start in the music and events industry. We’re expecting a very high standard and want to find some dynamic young people to come in and learn the business. They’ll get the opportunity to work alongside me across a wide range of festivals that we manage as well as being right at the heart of AEG, a company that has a tremendous events operation that tours some of the biggest acts in the world.”

RockNess takes place between June 11th – 13th.
