RockNess has launched a new ticket scheme called ‘Go Green’ which encourages green travel.
Held in one of the most beautiful locations in the UK, RockNess has established a reputation as a sensational festival. Punching well above its weight, the event is capable of coaxing one off performances from seminal acts.
Last year the likes of The Strokes, Aphex Twin and more descended on the Dores site for a weekend of music. Now RockNess has begun to prepare for next year’s event, launching a Go Green ticket scheme.
The festival previously announced that pre-orders for weekend passes would be priced at just £99. Now RockNess has confirmed an additional ticket scheme with green friendly travel included.
From as little £135 (£125 Student ticket) music fans the length and breadth of the country can guarantee they’ll be Loch Ness-bound for next summer’s massive Highland fling.
By using coach travel the organisers intend to make the journey a little more eco-friendly, cutting down on traffic running to and from the event. In addition to this, RockNess organisers have special prices for fans in Glasgow and Edinburgh.
Costing just £105, the prices change for fans around the UK. In London, the cost of a weekend tickets comes out at just £75 in real terms.
Festival Director Jim King said “The response to the launch has simply been incredible. The system crashed and we sold out the 3,000 special ’99’ tickets in a day which exceeded all expectations. To cope with continued demand we have now had to go straight into launching the EARLY BIRD ticket and signs are these too are being snapped up fast.”
“We would urge people to avoid delay in securing their great value Early Bird. For only £135 they can get a 3 day ticket including camping plus FREE COACH TRAVEL from all major cities across the UK. For some lucky people this means the actual ticket is even cheaper than the £99 offer. Oh and students even get a discount!”
RockNess 2011 takes place between June 10th – 12th.
