Between 2017-2020 (and a bit longer, if anyone’s counting) Clash Live and Metropolis Studios have partnered to host a series of stellar live shows, showcasing some of the best talent in the land. It’s been quite a trip. IAMDDB played Metropolis Studios a matter of weeks before her BBC Sound Of 2018 nomination, international guests dropped in whilst touring, and new artists honed their chops in world famous Studio A. The full list of artists taking part veers from feral South London grunge to St. Lucian production and back again.
The series returned in March with Delilah Montagu serenading a packed Studio A on International Women’s Day styled by ellesse. Followed by Hak Baker in April taking the roof off with Yogi Footwear. MasterPeace descended onto the complex in May jumping around the speaker stacks, styled by the mighty Patrick.
Jelani Blackman brought the roof down for June with a mosh pit that will go down in the annals styled by ellesse. July saw the mighty Guvna B step onto the stage in partnership with the good folks at Avirex. Tara Lily performed a spellbindingly beautiful set in August with ellesse and Tay Iwar gave world class excellence earlier this month.
The experience is free for fans and guests to attend. Space is extremely limited and the demand is high so we are running a ticket lottery format via the sign-up form at the bottom of this page. This month we bring the sensationally talented RLY to the Clash Live stage styled in a bespoke look by the incredible team at ellesse.
RLY
London-based pop force RLY have shared new single ‘Superpower’. The group made their debut earlier this year, becoming instant online favourites with their army of digital fans. True pop suss lies behind their rise, with RLY re-asserting their worth on their latest unstoppable single.
Out now, ‘Superpower’ is a glossy yet affecting slice of pop songwriting, affording each member – Jess, Kelli, Kyra, Halle, and Virginia – space to express themselves. Beautifully understated, ‘Superpower’ isn’t afraid to face down dark times in their lives, continually looking towards optimism. In their own words, ‘Superpower’ is “a song about making it through something that almost breaks you. It shines a light on how strong we become from pushing on through these moments of darkness, and how exhilarating it can be to start feeling like yourself again.”
RLY – it stands for ‘Real Like You’ – are a unified front, while also providing space for each member to express themselves. ‘Superpower’ is a case in point – the inspiration came from Jess, who has been through some tough times, and the band convened to provide her with the support she needed.
Very much a group effort, it’s marked by their sustained positivity. Jess adds: “When we wrote this song I was just starting to overcome years of battling with some mental health issues that completely debilitated my life. Writing this with Kyra empowered me. I saw what I had gained from it all, and I hope other people see their own strength when they hear it.” We cannot wait to welcome RLY to the Clash Live stage.
Tune in now.
