Rizla Riverboat Hits London

With Optimo, Greg Wilson and more

The Rizla Riverboat is set to sail up the Thames with sets from Optimo, Greg Wilson and more.

Rizla have spent the summer presenting some of the wildest parties around. The Invisible Players bus visited festivals across the land, taking with them some of the hottest Djs and producers around.

Toddla T, Joe Goddard and Grandmaster Flash all hopped aboard the bus, which ran from RockNess all the way to the South coast. With the festival season drawing to a close, Rizla have announced a series of boat parties.

Kicking off in Glasgow last month, Rizla’s Riverboat has made its way down to London. Set to sail up the Thames this October, the boat will be crammed full of DJ talent.

Optimo need no introduction, having rocked Glasgow’s Sub Club for thirteen years. Twitch and Wilkes are two of the finest DJs around, going the extra distance to find the best tune – no matter how rare – to fit their set.

Dropping in a few well known classics along the way, Optimo are cited as a huge inspiration by New York imprint DFA. James Murphy is a fan, with LCD Soundsystem having played the Sub Club before their debut album.

Set to host the new boat party, other confirmed DJs include Greg Wilson. Based in Manchester, Wilson’s comeback has become the stuff of dance music mythology. ‘Retired’ for over 15 years, the DJ came back onto the scene in 2004.

Since then, Greg Wilson has rocked dancefloors all over the world with his electro-funk classics and tasty re-edits. A great addition to the boat party crew, expect some filthy dancing on the ship deck.

Other guests include Lowlife and noted author Bill Brewster, with plenty more names due to be announced closer to the time. After the boat docks, revellers will be invited down to Shoreditch nightspot C.A.M.P.

The Rizla Riverboat Shuffle hits London on October 8th.
