Rizla Re-Crafted is set to launch with a special day and night event in Birmingham.
Taking root in the Acid House explosion, dance music has never loosened its grip on the nation’s youth. Across the UK, thousands upon thousands of young producers are attempting to find their own voice.
Now Rizla has launched the Re-Crafted project to find some new talent. The tour kicks off in Birmingham next Friday (November 12th) and boasts an eclectic bill running through the day and night.
Free to attend, Re-Crafted will kick off in the Hare and Hounds where garage legend MJ Cole will host a production session. Exploring some of the finer aspects of production, the bass kingpin will reveal some trade secrets.
A genuine garage legend, MJ Cole helped define the sound of the scene with his ‘Sincere’ album. Still making vital music, the producer will host an interactive session with live demonstrations and more.
At night, the Rizla Re-Crafted crew will pack up and head to The Rainbow Warehouse for a one off show. MJ Cole will play a DJ set, mixing classics with some of the latest cuts from across the country and beyond.
Mystery Jets are due to put down their guitars to hit the decks, while fellow indie titans Friendly Fires will also cut the rug in an exclusive DJ set.
Simian Mobile Disco are due to play a DJ set, having spent the summer storming festivals around the world. The duo are preparing to release their new compilation ‘Delicacies’ which focuses on their more upfront, white label cuts.
With a live performance from Le Corps Mince De Francoise the Birmingham event kicks off a short UK tour which sees Rizla Re-Crafted visit a total of four cities across the UK.
