Rizla Re-Crafted Hits Bristol

With appearances from Kele and more

Rizla Re-Crafted is set to hit Bristol with special appearances from Kele, L-Vis 1990 and more.

The remix is a staple of dance music, capable of turning the most unlikely of tracks into groundbreaking material. Now a new series of events from Rizla aim to shed light on some of the production techniques that go into a great remix.

Rizla Re-Crafted launched recently in Birmingham, and aims to bring together established talent with complete unknowns. Garage icon MJ Cole chairs proceedings, with fans able to learn from him on a one to one basis.

The producer used ‘Show Me The Light’ by Mystery Jets as a blank canvas, taking the track in any direction he sees fit. During the day, the Bristol show will take control of Cube Microplex for live presentations, short performances and more.

Tickets are free, but fans should register HERE.

At night, Rizla Re-Crafted takes control of Bristol club In:Motion for a special one off event. MJ Cole will hit the decks, alongside a special appearance from Bloc Party singer turned synth-pop star Kele.

Releasing his debut solo album this year, Kele has introduced a new dance persona. Left alone with antique synths in the studio, what emerged was a thrilling piece of electro-pop which turned expectations upside down.

Elsewhere, Mystery Jets are set to DJ before Night Slug head L-Vis 1990 takes control. A superb young DJ, L-Vis 1990 is one of the most influential names in UK Funky, steering house into new areas.

Julio Bashmore will perform, while Camp Like Guitar are also set to hit the turntables at the one off event. London based DJ Fake Blood tops the bill, following the success of cuts like ‘I Think I Like It’.

Rizla Re-Crafted hits Bristol on November 20th.
