Former Verve frontman Richard Ashcroft is set to hit the road ahead of his new solo album.
As a member of The Verve, Richard Ashcroft helped to push British music forward with bold, brash statements. Turning solo in 2000, however, the singer seemed to lose an element of ambition.
With his new project, however, Richard Ashcroft could be set to destroy preconceived notions of his solo career.
Forming the United Nations Of Sound, the singer has recruited a raft of producers, MCs and guest musicians. A wholly new group, their material is rumoured to be some of the most groundbreaking of the frontman’s career.
Playing a number of low key shows, Richard Ashcroft has performed solo. Now the singer is set to hit the road with the United Nations Of Sound ahead of the release of their as yet untitled debut album.
Provisionally titled ‘Redemption’ the album is due for release on June 7th. Now the band are set to debut the material in the live arena, with the United Nations Of Sound confirming a series of European dates.
Beginning on June 5th, the United Nations Of Sound are set to hit Britain to play two very special shows. Performing at Manchester Academy on June 15th, Richard Ashcroft will also hit London’s O2 Shepherds Bush Empire on June 16th.
