Reverend & The Makers Tour

Sheffield group announce headline dates

Sheffield indie heroes Reverend & The Makers are set to tour the UK after announcing five headline shows.

Led by Jon ‘Reverend’ McClure the group burst through in 2007, but the band had been working for some time before that. Pressing up their own releases, holding their own club nights – McClure had a devoted army of fans while still signing on the dole.

However the band’s 2007 debut single changed all that’. ‘Heavyweight Champion Of The World’ stomped into the Top 40 while their full length album ‘The State Of Things’ hit number five.

Since then however the band have taken a back seat to McClure’s other projects, notably Mongrel. His frequent public pronouncements included the claim that the Makers have disbanded, however it seems as if there is plenty of life in the group left.

Reverend & The Makers are due to release their second album this year, and have been confirmed as tour support on upcoming stadium dates with Oasis.

Reverend & The Makers have also confirmed their own headline tour, with dates as follows:

July
8 London KOKO
14 Birmingham O2 Academy 2
15 Manchester O2 Academy 2
16 Glasgow ABC
18 Sheffield O2 Academy
