This year’s Relentless Boardmasters Festival is set to return to Newquay in August, with hispanic hip hop heroes Cypress Hill and The Streets playing the event.
The latest acts offer a perfectly mixed blend of sounds, from UK hip-hop maestro Roots Manuva and electro duo Dan le Sac v’s Scroobius Pip to reggae punks The King Blues and recent Clash Magazine star Master Shortie all confirmed.
This is so far Cypress Hill’s only UK festival date for 2009, with the Black Sunday stars also set to release their ninth album this year. Speaking to Billboard recently, B Real added of the LP “We’re mixing right now – It’s aggressive. It’s like hip-hop straight-up. We just felt like we needed to go back to that raw, gritty hip-hop sound but try to find a way to bridge it with what’s going on now.”
