The latest weather reports for Reading & Leeds indicate that both sites could suffer from rain.
One of the summer’s biggest events, Reading and Leeds is almost upon us. The twin-site event will feature headline performances from Muse, My Chemical Romance and a joint slot from Pulp and The Strokes.
The full line up mixes high profile acts and total newcomers, as Reading and Leeds continues to push forward. However with fans packing their bags and heading towards each site, all eyes are on the weather.
The bad news for those travelling to Reading is that the site could be set for some heavy showers. The Met Office reports that there is a chance of rain today (August 25th) for campers arriving on site.
Tomorrow (August 26th) sees the festival swing into gear, and the weather is due to take a turn for the worse. Heavy, thundery showers are predicted with some heavy rain due to fall on the site.
These are set to clear by the evening, with Saturday (August 27th) once again due to be mixed. There is a chance of sunshine, although this is predicted to be interspersed with periods of rainfall.
Closing on Sunday (August 28th) the Reading leg of the festival will remain mixed until the very end. Sunshine and showers are again predicted, although temperatures should remain warm throughout the day.
Meanwhile, the Leeds site will enjoy rather more in-climate weather. Opening today (August 24th) the site will suffer from a few spells of rain, before the sun begins to make itself known.
The music opens tomorrow (August 25th) with the rain beginning to die away. Wet weather will remain a fixture for the weekend, although in general the site will remain dryer than Reading and temperatures will be higher.
Reading & Leeds runs between August 25th – 27th.
