Radiohead Reject Secondary Ticketing

Ticket Trust link up announced

Radiohead have announced a partnership with ethical ticketing company Ticket Trust.

The issue of secondary ticketing became a hot topic last week, with Channel 4’s Dispatches programme launching an investigation into the practises of Viagogo.

With debate running high, a number of bands have stepped into the fray. Always keen to utilise the internet as a means to communicate with fans, Radiohead have confirmed a new partnership with an ethical ticketing agency.

Radiohead’s management issued a statement blasting the practise of secondary ticketing. “Secondary ticketing is wrong on so many levels” they said.

Continuing, the statement said: “the band’s enjoyment of their own shows has been marred by the knowledge that a great many of their fans have been obliged to pay well over face value for their tickets”.

The partnership links the Radiohead fanclub with Ticket Trust. Fans will be limited to purchasing two tickets, with names registered, and photo ID required for entry, “to ensure fans are treated fairly”.

The news comes as speculation continues over potential Radiohead tour dates in the UK. The band have already outlined plans for a North American tour, with a handful of European festival shows in the pipeline.

Set to headline Bilbao BBK and Optimus Alive, the band are widely expect to play the UK later this year.
