Radio 1's Big Weekend is set to travel to Exeter this summer.
The event is Europe's biggest free ticket outdoor festival, and – as usual – the majority of tickets will go to those in the local area.
Coldplay, Chase & Status, Ellie Goulding and Craig David have all been confirmed for the event, which takes place on May 28th – 29th. Coldplay singer Chris Martin is keenly anticipating the show, which he claims is a sort of homecoming.
He told Radio 1: "I lived the first few years of my life less than 500 yards from where we'll be performing so this couldn't be more of a homecoming for me. Guy, Will, Jonny and I are honoured to be on the bill and we're looking forward to a very special show."
Controller of Radio 1 and 1Xtra, Ben Cooper, said: "We've taken Lady Gaga to Carlisle, Taylor Swift to Norwich and now we're taking Chris Martin back home. We're very proud to be able to bring such a diverse range of acts to Exeter, where they'll be part of our biggest weekend of the year."
Radio 1's Big Weekend hits Exeter's Powderham Castle on May 28th – 29th.
