Pulled Apart By Horses Hit The Road

After unexpected airplay

Provocative Leeds group Pulled Apart By Horses are set to hit the road after the success of their debut album.

Formed from the ashes of several groups on the Leeds scene, Pulled Apart By Horses are one of the most visceral, confrontational live experiences around. The band are known for drawing blood – most often from themselves – yet their songwriting has accessible, even catchy moments.

Signed to Transgressive, the band’s debut album was an unexpected success. Breaking through to a wider audience, Pulled Apart By Horses are among a new breed of British rock groups gaining success.

“I find it baffling that we can turn the radio on in the afternoon and hear our track,” drummer Lee Vincent told BBC Newsbeat. “It says a lot about the current musical climate that people are into rock music again – it’s not such a dirty word.”

Meanwhile, singer Rob Lee enthused about the renaissance in dirty, sweaty rock music. “It’s cool that people realise every now and again that rock music is a valid form of music,” he explained.

“There’s a lot of intelligent extreme music or heavy music out there. You want to see people sweating and hurting themselves. Getting into it – that’s what we’re here for.”

Set to finish 2010 as they started, Pulled Apart By Horses have organised a mammoth UK tour. Taking in all corners of the country, the post-hardcore nutjobs will kickstart the dates in Carlisle on November 5th.

After six weeks of non-stop rock action the Leeds group will finish the jaunt in London’s Garage venue on December 12th.
