Danish festival Roskilde has added the likes of The Prodigy and Patti Smith to their line up.
The Danes hate to see you leave – which is probably why Roskilde lasts for as long as it does. Officially running for four days the event has camping facilities for an entire week with plenty to keep you occupied.
Running between July 1st – 4th, Roskilde is one of Europe’s biggest festivals. Confirming a series of massive headliners the event has now unveiled a host of new additions including British rave rock legends The Prodigy.
Coming out of the white heat of the jungle explosion, The Prodigy has become the elder statesmen of rave. Still behaving badly, the band released their rejuvenated album ‘Invaders Must Die’ last year.
A huge success, it boosted The Prodigy to a level of prominence they have not enjoyed for almost a decade. Set to perform at Roskilde the band will be hoping to reach the energy levels they enjoyed at last summer’s RockNess festival.
Also set to perform is New York punk chanteuse Patti Smith. A cult hero who has produced far more than her fair share of seminal works, the singer helped to inspire Morrissey and countless other.
Remaining a commanding stage presence, Patti Smith will add a counter cultural aura to proceedings. Roskilde has already confirmed some stellar headliners including Gorillaz, Muse, Them Crooked Vultures, Pavement and Motorhead.
Roskilde takes place between July 1st – 4th.
