Rave rock icons The Prodigy have extended their forthcoming UK tour, adding an extra date.
The Prodigy emerged from the white heat of Acid House. Coming of age in illegal raves, the band decided to make their own music based on the energy and sounds they experienced at those illicit gatherings.
Now British dance legends, albums such as ‘Music For The Jilted Generation’ are seared into the minds of a generation. Returning this year with new material, The Prodigy seem to have re-discovered the fire that turned them into one of Britain’s most notorious groups.
New album ‘Invaders Must Die’ was a stunning returning, finding The Prodigy on ferocious form. Containing moments of pure heaven for fans, the album also showed the group to be unafraid to experiment.
Touring widely, The Prodigy headlined this summer’s RockNess festival in the Scottish Highlands. Now the band are set to go back on the road, taking in towns they missed during extensive jaunts this year.
Opening early next year, The Prodigy’s new tour will be titled ‘Run With The Wolves’. Speaking to fans on their MySpace page The Prodigy claimed:
“We wanted to kick off 2010 in the UK so we are coming to some of the towns that we missed last year. Sometimes these places can get forgotten so we wanted to bring the show to fans who don’t often get a chance to see us.”
The new tour opens with a show in Doncaster on January 21st. Taking in some unexpected venues, The Prodigy are due to storm the likes of Southend, Blackpool and more.
‘Run With The Wolves’ is now set to finish with a show in Glasgow on January 31st, opening the year with a bang for the rave rock icons.
