One of Clash's very favourite urban festivals Simple Things returns to Bristol on 25th October with a deliciously eclectic line up, catering to the most discerning of music fans. 60 innovative acts have been programmed to perform over 17 hours of innovative music across 12 stages.
The festival will be kicking of with a very special opening party at Bristol institution Motion on Friday October 24th, whetting the appetite with a full live show from Caribou and Hyperdub artist Jessy Lanza.
The main event will again take place over a cross-section of existing city centre venues and unique creative spaces demonstrating the very best the city has to offer. Saturday headliners include angular dance floor punk duo Death From Above 1979, Glaswegian post-rock titans Mogwai and the ever authentic disco don DJ Harvey.
Other names on the bill for Saturday include musical chameleons Liars, Atlanta garage-rock band Black Lips and 4AD signed producer Zomby, An additional coup for this year's event is a Hyperdub hosted stage to celebrate 10 years of the label, including founder Kode9, Laurel Halo, Cooly G and Scratcha DVA.
In addition there's the long awaited return from Nightmares On Wax, dreamy R&B futurism from How To Dress Well, enigmatic deep house of DJ Sprinkles alongside intense post-hardcore from Eagulls and mercurial producer Actress. Simple Things also welcome Bristol native DJ Nature back to his home-turf, techno A-lister and Berghain regular DVS1 and Clash favourite The Haxan Cloak bringing claustrophobic layered sounds.
