London promoters Church Of Sound are set to host a special show honouring the work of Yusef Lateef.
The show kicks off tonight (February 2nd) and finds the team returning to the beautiful surroundings of St James the Great Church, Clapton.
The Hackney venue is a wonderful space to absorb live music, and the latest show follows sold out tributes to Minnie Ripperton and Bobby Hutcherson.
The late pianist Yusef Lateef left a formidable legacy, and his work has been sampled by the likes of Beastie Boys, The Pharcyde and countless others.
Hot UK jazz ensemble Collocutor will reinterpret his work, a selection of superb instrumentalists led by led by saxophonist Tamar Osborn.
