Polar Bear Announce Autumn Tour

Film 'Later...' performance

British jazz rockers Polar Bear have confirmed details of a lengthy Autumn tour across the UK.

In recent times Polar Bear have become known as Seb Rochford’s ‘other’ band. With Acoustic Ladyland gaining acclaim and even breaking into more mainstream guitar circles, there was a danger that Polar Bear could become over shadowed.

However the group roared back last year with their new album. A triumph of jazz, rock and electronica ‘Peepers’ won widespread acclaim and found airplay across the globe.

Not bad going for one of Britain’s most adventurous groups. With the band still basking in the glow of critical acceptance, Polar Bear have recorded a session for high profile TV program ‘Later… With Jools Holland’.

The presenter does not interfere with the skronk warbling, allowing the free jazz saxophones to blast through without fear of interruption from Jools’ dubious honky tonk skills. The first band from revered independent label Leaf to make it onto the program, the performance comes as the imprint celebrate their 15th birthday.

Polar Bear are set to be busy throughout the summer, having just confirmed a show at Brighton showcase event The Great Escape. The group have also announced a series of Autumn dates, beginning with a show in Leeds on September 30th.

Finishing with a gig in York on October 20th the shows will see Polar Bear get back into their live element.

Polar Bear are set to play the following shows:

September
30 Leeds The Wardrobe

October
1 Manchester Band On The Wall
2 Bristol Colston Hall
9 Tonbridge EM Forster Theatre
10 Coventry Warwick Arts Centre
15 Norwich Norwich Art Centre
16 Liverpool Kazimier
17 Aberdeen The Tunnels
18 Edinburgh The Voodoo Rooms
19 Middlesbrough Town Hall Crypt
20 York The Duchess
