French electro rockers Phoenix have confirmed another London show after their date in Brixton Academy sold out.
Some bands take a while to break through. Having released sterling electro rock over the course of three albums you could forgive Phoenix from becoming a little weary of the whims of the public.
Yet with new album ‘Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix’ the band seem to have struck a nerve. Finding renewed popularity the record gained rave reviews, with lead track ‘1901’ becoming a bona fide dancefloor smash.
Given countless reworkings by producers across the globe, the track now soundtracks Playstation 3’s high profile ad campaign. Ending 2009 with some spectacular news, Phoenix were nominated for their first ever Grammy.
Given the nod for ‘Alternative Music Album’ alongside the likes of Depeche Mode, Phoenix are clearly in the mood to celebrate.
The band recently confirmed a rare UK show at London’s O2 Academy Brixton. Selling out within hours, Phoenix have confirmed another date. Taking over the historic Roundhouse venue, the French electro rockers are set to hit London on March 29th.
In addition to this Phoenix have confirmed that ‘1901’ is set to be re-issued in the UK. A sleeper hit on Stateside charts, the track has grown in popularity thanks to repeated plays on Playstation’s current ad campaign.
Due for release in February, ‘1901’ will coincide with Phoenix playing the following show:
