Peter Hook and The Light are set to re-visit New Order's first two albums early next year.
Born from tragic circumstances, New Order took a while to find their feet. The band experimented with electronics at a time when no one knew how to adapt the technology to a rock format. Those initial steps, though, remain fascinating experiments in sound.
Fresh from lengthy tours focussing on Joy Division's material, Peter Hook and The Light have decided to re-visit those early statements. Organising two shows, the band will play 'Movement' and 'Power, Corruption & Lies' in their entirety. Making the shows extra special, Peter Hook has settled on two unique venues to house the concerts.
Travelling to London on January 17th, the band will perform at the historic KOKO venue. Returning to their hometown the following evening, Peter Hook and the Light will perform at Manchester Cathedral. Priced at £20, tickets for both events go on sale this coming Tuesday 25th September at 9am. Note: the price includes a charity donation to MIND & Forever Manchester.
Here's an archive clip of New Order performing of 'Dreams Never End'.
