After news his fellow Libertine Carl Barat is set to play this year’s Camden Rocks festival this summer with The Paddingtons, Pete Doherty will now be doing the same by joining the band for a tribute show at the London Rhythm Factory.
The show will be in aid of influential gig promoter Johnny ‘Rhythm’ Sedassy, who tragically passed away last month to cancer.
Sedassy is widely credited for uniting the close-knit, gorilla-gigging scene which spawned The Libertines’ classic debut ‘Up The Bracket’, as well as a host of bands such as The Others and The Paddingtons. Sedassy also regularly promoted new bands at the Whitechapel venue.
Taking place on 15th May, the gig will see Pete Doherty, The Paddingtons, Red Roots and Melody Nelson playing at the venue, with all proceeds and artist fees going to the Michael Sobell Charity in Oxford.
Doherty has been actively touring since the release of his first solo LP ‘Grace/Wastelands’ (Clash review), also airing Libertines classics such as ‘Can’t Stand Me Now’ and ‘Don’t Look Back Into The Sun’ at his most recent shows (news).
Tickets for the show are £25, and are now available to buy HERE.
