Peace Mix is heading to the Roundhouse, and they’re taking Maximo Park and more along for the ride.
Set up in the aftermath of the London riots, Peace Mix aims to champion new music in the UK. A joint venture between the Big Lottery Fund and the New Day Foundation, the organisation have set up events around the country to help expose young talent.
Now Peace Mix is heading to the Roundhouse. Taking control of the historic venue on August 28th, the organisation have organised a one off party headlined by Tinchy Stryder and Maximo Park.
Alongside this, Peace Mix have invited along some complete unknowns. Holding heats across the summer, the organisation whittled down the entries until Georgie Rose from Nottingham and Ricky Flemming from Leeds emerged victorious.
Winning through at the Eden Project Peace Mix Play Off, they were chosen by judges Stephen Budd, Wizdom and Tim Smit.
The Noisettes’ Shingai Shinowa is an ambassador of the campaign, and reflected recently: “I have chosen to support Peace Mix because I really value the part that music and entertainment and art play in society today and I think that they offer an amazing alternative to lots of bad situations that people might find themselves in”.
Peace Mix hit the Roundhouse on August 28th.
