Paul Weller, Primal Scream, Kneecap (And More) Unite For Gaza Aid Concert

All funds go to MAP (Medical Aid For Palestinians)...

Paul Weller has curated a very special Gig For Gaza line-up.

The songwriter has been outspoken in his support for peace in the Middle East, using his recent UK tour to plead with the audience to support an immediate ceasefire, and an end to what he vocally termed a genocide against the Palestinian people.

Bringing the Palestinian flag onstage each night, Paul Weller has now moved to organise a one-off show to arrange funding for MAP – Medical Aid For Palestinians – and Gaza Forever.

Gig For Gaza takes place at London’s O2 Academy Brixton on December 13th, and the artwork (up top) has been designed by Robert Del Naja of Massive Attack.

Paul Weller will perform at the show, joined by Primal Scream, Kneecap, and Liam Bailey.

Primal Scream have been outspoken supporters of the Palestinian cause for decades now, and recently released their album ‘Come Ahead’. CLASH wrote:

As righteously indignant and vital as ever, ‘Come Ahead’ is another high in a career full of them.

During Paul Weller’s show at Glasgow Barrowlands, he told the crowd:

“I would to dedicate that last song to all the tens of thousands of women, children, babies, men, civilians in Palestine and Gaza.”

“I would ask you one question. It’s really simple. There is no grey area. Are you for genocide or are you against it. It’s a fucking yes or no question…”

Gig For Gaza tickets go on sale this Friday (November 15th) from: www.ticketmaster.co.uk
