Maximo Park singer turned solo star Paul Smith has added two shows to his upcoming British tour.
There was always more to Maximo Park than meets the eye. The band weren’t signed to Warp for nothing, and have developed an artistic edge quite apart from the rest of their festival blasting indie peers.
Turning solo, Paul Smith has retreated to his roots. Using his own tiny Billingham imprint to release his debut solo album, the singer has teamed up with some close friends and taken inspiration from some unusual sources.
A mainly acoustic effort, ‘Margins’ also nods at American underground figures. Set to be released next month, Paul Smith has compiled a new photography book to accompany the record.
A lavish package, the ‘Thinking Pictures’ tome will have a space at the back for the album to slot into. Planning to launch the album with a lengthy British tour, all dates sold out within just a few days.
As a result, Paul Smith has extended his tour dates. The singer has added new dates, with the tour set to kick off on Southampton and Oxford on 23rd and 24th November, respectively.
