Sir Paul McCartney has added a number of British shows to his upcoming European tour.
Heady days for Sir Paul McCartney. Few would have thought that the former Beatle would enter his late 60s with a new bride, a new album (nay, a new ballet) and a full European tour to look forward to.
Titled ‘On The Run’ the new tour has already taken in sporadic dates around the globe. Throwing in solo cuts alongside classics from The Beatles and Wings, Sir Paul McCartney has entertained thousands of fans.
Now ‘On The Run’ is set to return to the UK. The former Beatle is still recovering from his wedding reception, having tied the knot with American businesswoman Nancy Shevell in a London registry office.
With the neighbours left complaining about the rowdy reception, McCartney is now set to fire up the tour bus. Announcing a series of new shows, ‘On The Run’ is set to reach some new territory.
Amongst the upcoming dates are rare live shows in Russia, France, German, Sweden and more. Hitting the UK, Sir Paul McCartney has confirmed plans to play a trio of concerts including a hometown date in Liverpool.
Forever proud of his roots, the singer will bring down the curtain on a memorable year in his life with a visit to the Mersey. Taking place on December 20th at the city’s Echo Arena venue, tickets for all upcoming shows go on sale from 9am this Thursday (October 13th).
Looking ahead to the tour, Sir Paul McCartney was typically enthusiastic. “Playing live is one of the most exciting parts of my job. I’m really looking forward to the next run of shows and to playing places that I have never played before with my band.”
“I’ll be starting with my first ever U.A.E concert and from there I’m on the run across Europe and Russia, before finally getting back to my hometown of Liverpool in time for Christmas. My audiences seem to get better each year and the band and I love the buzz and feedback that they give us. I can’t wait to see you all for some wild nights of rock n’ roll and partying”.
