Panda Bear For Oya Festival

Norwegian event grabs new talent

Norwegian music festival Oya Festival has added a host of star names including Animal Collective singer Panda Bear.

Held in the one of the oldest areas of Oslo, Oya combines dramatic scenery with an eclectic bill. Attracting some startling headliners, the festival has developed a reputation for bagging exclusive performances.

This summer’s instalment of Norwegian mayhem is shaping up to be a cracker. Already confirmed for the event are the likes of M.I.A. and Pavement, with LCD Soundsystem also set to drop by.

However Oya organisers aren’t content to let matters sit there, with new acts being added daily. Amongst the latest batch of fresh additions are Animal Collective singer Panda Bear, currently working on his new solo album.

Animal Collective cannot put a foot wrong just now, and Panda Bear’s new material brings with it the promise of more stunning music. Joining the Lisbon based star on the bill are newcomers such as Marina And The Diamonds.

The British group released their debut album earlier this year, showcasing lead singer Marina Diamandis’ Kate Bush gone pop voice.

American band Local Natives recently stormed SXSW, playing nine shows in just six days. Heading out to Norway, the band are set to be joined by Miike Snow and British production team King Midas Sound.

Sigur Ros singer Jonsi has also been confirmed for the Oslo event, with a spellbinding set expected from the Icelandic star.

Oya Festival takes place between August 10th – 14th.
