Olivia Rodrigo is said to be “disappointed” after her Manchester Co-Op Live dates were cancelled at the last minute.
The much-hyped venue cost around £365 million to construct, but has been dogged by issues. The actual opening date has been pushed back multiple times, while an inaugural concert with American rapper A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie was called off with fans inside the venue.
Olivia Rodrigo was due to play Manchester Co-Op Live as part of her massive UK tour, which also includes a visit to the O2 Arena in London. Long since sold out, fans were flying in to the city from across Europe and beyond.
Sadly, due to issues outwith her control, the shows have been cancelled. In a note, Olivia Rodrigo said she was “sooooo disappointed” not to perform her shows, adding on Instagram: “I’m so bummed and I really hope to see you all soon”.
Olivia and her team are “doing our best” to reschedule the concerts.

It’s another major embarrassment for the venue, which was due to be opened by comedian Peter Kay last week, but his shows have been postponed twice. Co-Op Live will be able to host 23,500 people when finally open, and it is said to be the UK’s largest indoor arena venue.
Keane are scheduled to play Co-Op Live this weekend, followed by a five-night run from record-breaking UK boy band Take That. The venue has sought to re-assure fans, but admitted that further postponements could be possible.
“We are working with artist management and promoters to limit the impact on the opening season schedule,” its statement said. “Where necessary, we will identify alternate dates, and will continually reassess to provide fans with sufficient notice regarding imminent shows. Should shows be cancelled or rescheduled, fans will be contacted by their point of purchase and offered a full refund where preferred.”
