American odd balls OK Go are amongst the latest additions to this summer’s instalment of Y-Not.
OK Go like to make an impact. Sure, their power-pop might pack a punch but its in the world of video where the band really come into their own.
Famous for their bizarre promos, OK Go recently issued a statement apologising to fans after their label withdrew embedding access to their latest video. Sparking a war of words, the American group stood firmly on the side of the fan.
The band will be getting up close and personal this summer, with OK Go set to perform at Y-Not. Held in the Derbyshire countryside the event takes place between July 30th and August 1st, with scores of acts being confirmed.
Festival favourites Slow Club are planning to drop by, with their rickety rockabilly always going down a treat in the sunshine. Fresh from the success of their debut album, the Moshi Moshi group are planning to drop by Y-Not.
Organisers have worked hard to unveil a number of familiar faces. Acoustic duo Turin Brakes are set to drop by, mixing their now classic hits with a selection of material from their forthcoming new album.
Meanwhile, Oldham indie stars Twisted Wheel are due to perform at the festival, joined by near neighbours (well Manchester!) Kid British. Politically active, Kid British have played at a number of Love Music. Hate Racism shows.
Close friend Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly is also a known supporter of that cause, and the two will be causing a ruckus at this year’s Y-Not.
With tickets details set to be announced soon, the organisers of Y-Not are keeping the very secret headliners up their sleeve until the last possible second.
Y-Not takes place between July 30th – August 1st.
