Nordoff Robbins Musical Amnesty

Dig out those instruments!

Music therapy charity Nordoff Robbins have confirmed details of an instrument amnesty.

To some people, music is more than what you do in your spare time. Set up to help those most in need of help, Nordoff Robbins are a charity who use music to ease the suffering and aid the progress of disabled and sick children.

In the past the charity have been joined by some star names. The likes of Johnny Borrell from Razorlight have given their support, while Dundonian indie scamps The View recently aided the charity.

A superb blend of music and a worthy cause, Nordoff Robbins have unveiled plans for a new instrument amnesty.

Taking place in the Silverburn Shopping centre in Glasgow, the charity are urging members of the public to donate unwanted musical instruments. Ever get a guitar for Christmas but not get past ‘Mary Had Little Lamb’? Well it could find a better home…

Any instrument large or small will be considered, although those attempting to transport a Baby Grand do so at their own risk.

Taking place tomorrow (April 8th) the event is the latest fundraiser planned by the ever expanding charity. With bases across the UK, Nordoff Robbins are helping those in need wherever they can.

Fundraising chairman, Donald MacLeod says, “The joy that our therapists bring to those isolated from the world by illness or disability is incredible. I urge anyone who may have an old instrument gathering dust in a cupboard to bring it along. It will be be put to great use and help our therapists carry out their unique work.”

Nordoff Robbins instrument amnesty takes place in Silverburn Shopping Centre tomorrow (April 8th).
