Former Oasis songwriter Noel Gallagher is set to perform alongside Primal Scream bass player Mani.
Noel Gallagher has played solo shows before. The one time Oasis songwriter dug out his acoustic a few years ago, playing some lesser heard tracks to a packed audience at the Royal Albert Hall.
Now finally working on a solo album – although perhaps under unexpected conditions – Noel Gallagher has confirmed two shows at the Royal Albert Hall. Part of the ‘Teenage Cancer Trust’ series, the singer recently revealed more details about the gigs.
Speaking to Talksport Radio, Noel Gallagher explained that Mani is going to be part of his band. The bass player began life in The Stone Roses and now plays with Primal Scream.
In addition to this, Mani has been working on material with New Order legend Peter Hook as part of the Freebass project. Now the bass player will perform with Noel Gallagher, although the songwriter refused to be drawn on particulars of the set.
Taking place on March 25th and 26th, the shows will feature Noel Gallagher performing with a string section. Speaking on Talksport, the singer revealed that rehearsals for the shows are due to begin next week.
Joining Noel Gallagher at the ‘Teenage Cancer Trust’ shows are a varied cast including Jimmy Carr, JLS, The Who and Kasabian.
