New York Dolls Intimate Show

Tickets available soon!

Punk pioneers New York Dolls have announced details of a one off show in Newcastle later this year.

New York Dolls may have been a commercial failure during their initial stab at rock glory, but the band have gone on to enjoy an enormous influence. The pre-punk hellraisers embodies the sleazy glamour of rock ‘n’ roll, and went on to inspire Malcolm McLaren when he was dealing with The Sex Pistols.

Reforming back in 2004, the band have enjoyed a remarkable second life. Now clean, New York Dolls have toured widely bringing their music to a new generation – some of whom weren’t even born when they released their classic debut album.

The band have recorded new material, and played an extensive British tour last year. The group forged close attachment with the country during the 70s, at one point living in London when attempting to record new material.

Clearly enjoying a close association with ol’ Blighty, New York Dolls have now confirmed an intimate new show.

Taking place in Newcastle on September 4th, New York Dolls will perform in the tiny pub venue The Cluny. The band will play songs from throughout their career, from those defining early recordings to the recent album ‘Cause I Sez So’.

Produced by Todd Rundgren, the material is a tough, modern addition to their seminal career. Containing several original members, New York Dolls now line up with: David Johansen (vocals) and Sylvain Sylvain (guitar, vocals), plus Steve Conte (guitar), Sami Yaffa (bass) and Brian Delaney (drums).

Tickets for The Cluny show will go on sale soon, with fans able to purchase them on a first come first served basis.
