A new all-american folk supergroup has formed, featuring Conor ‘Bright Eyes’ Oberst, My Morning Jacket’s Jim James and Cali songsmith M Ward.
The new band, ‘Mosters Of Folk’, suddenly snuck a new website on-line last week, with the four-piece reportedly set to release a self-titled album shortly.
Rumours began to mount after My Morning Jacket’s Jim James told Rolling Stone he had planned to collaborate in the near future, and the members have previously played together at the Slowdown festival.
The band’s website also lists renowned producer Mike Mogis as a member, leading to further speculation the trio have been recording with the desk don. Mogis has produced a huge amount of artists on Bright Eyes’ Sadle Creek Records, as well as M Ward’s most recent album ‘Hold Time’.
Though a label has yet to be announced for the project, Monsters of Folk’s debut is slated for release on 22 September.
