New Order For Bestival

Factory band installed as headliners

Factory icons New Order are set to headline Saturday night at this year’s Bestival.

So New Order are set to hit the festival trail. The legendary group reformed last year, and have already confirmed appearances at Benicassim, EXIT and more with the Factory icons now setting their sights on the UK.

In an announcement this morning (February 14th) Bestival organiser Rob da Bank confirmed that New Order are set to headline the Robin Hill event.

“So I’ve got Blue Monday blaring out of the Bestival HQ office speakers as we unveil our iconic Saturday night headliner New Order. It doesn’t get better than that… but it does! True Faith, Bizarre Love Triangle, Fine Time, Regret – so many amazing records i grew up listening to and still listen to now and they still sound immense, pioneering, legendary. See you down the front!”

The announcement is part of a wider array of acts placed on the bill, including Friendly Fires, Death In Vegas, Django Django, Zulu Winter and Drums of Death.

Shifting between indie and electronica, Bestival have arranged for a special showcase on behalf of Brainfeeder. The Los Angeles based label will bring across a sample of their roster, who have continually pushed back the boundaries of what hip hop can achieve.

So far, Thundercat, The Gaslamp Killer, Teebs, Lapalux, Jeremiah Jae and DJ Kutmah have all been named on the line up for this summer’s event.

Always concerned with offering more than just music, Bestival founder Rob da Bank is leading the way with the event’s cinematic bent. The DJ and producer is set to re-score the classic 1930 version of ‘King Kong’ live at the Isle of Wight event.

If you’re in need of relaxation this summer, then Bestival have something special in store for you: meditation and yoga classes from the David Lynch Foundation.

Bestival runs between September 6th – 9th.
