Neon Indian UK Tour Dates

Chill wave guru hits the UK

Chill wave producer Neon Indian has confirmed details of a brief stint of new UK shows.

Real name Alan Palomo, the producer first drew attention to himself under the name VEGA. A synth wizard, his skewed pop gathered a cult following before the beat smith found the name and concept too restricting.

Emerging with the name Neon Indian, the producer’s homegrown blend of beats and samples have earned huge acclaim. Together with acts such as Toro Y Moi and Washed Out, Neon Indian has been credited with spearheading the chillwave genre.

Of course, whether it’s an actual genre of merely a flight of fancy on a Brooklyn blog is open to debate. Whatever, ClashMusic does know this for sure: Neon Indian makes great music and is heading to the UK.

Confirming a brief run of shows, Neon Indian is set to kickstart his British adventure with a DJ set at White Heat in London.

Performing live, Neon Indian will support Sleigh Bells at a show in Manchester before finally taking to the stage at London’s Camp venue.

The shows come as Neon Indian completes a support slot with Massive Attack, opening on the Bristol group’s first Stateside shows in ten years. The tour has introduced Palomo’s productions to a new audience, with the Brooklyn beatsmith handling remix duties for Grizzly Bear and Au Revoir Simone, among others.

Debut album ‘Psychic Chasms’ was released in the United States last year, and should be getting a full British release sometime this summer.

Neon Indian has confirmed the following shows:

May
18 London White Heat (DJ slot)
19 Manchester The Corner
20 London Camp
