Nathy Peluso’s GRASA Tour is far more than music. It is a declaration of arrival, a bold stance against the confinement of one-dimensional femininity.
A city drenched in Latin culture, Peluso’s Miami stop on the U.S. leg of her tour (March 5th) was a perfect storm. The Fillmore was filled to the brim with Cubans, Puerto Ricans, Dominicans, and every Hispanic diaspora in between, waving their flags loud and hungry for dance and feeling. Performing amid an ultimately barren stage, one may have begun to wonder how Peluso would maintain the energy of the room with so little gimmicks. Soon, it is realised: Peluso IS the show.

Completely alive and awe-striking, Peluso gives her nearly two-hour set every cell within her. From bone-chilling vocals to brash choreography, her performance is electrifying and the energy was matched. Couples swung around each other in full on salsa choreography, demanding the space for themselves as Peluso did for herself.
What makes Peluso stand out among the new generation of acts is her fluidity and genre-bending. GRASA’s seamless transition from salsa and bachata to rap and hip-hop is a microcosm of a woman’s versatility. Peluso is all of herself, all at once, and it’s never too much. If anything, you’re only left longing for more.

Speaking to the crowd eye-to-eye, even swimming in the first few rows, it’s clear Peluso does not separate herself from the people. She is aware of her power yet humbled to be honored. She is grateful, and she is completely in her skin, and she is exactly where she is supposed to be. Nathy Peluso is a superstar and the GRASA Tour is a testament to her limitless ability.
