Renowned sumer event Bestival has confirmed its first headliners for 2008 – and they will include legendary shoegazing outfit My Bloody Valentine.
Returning to the the Isle Of Wight’s Robin Hill Country Park, Bestival is renowned for its eclectic bill and family atmosphere. Curated by Rob Da Bank, Bestival has secured a number of big names for its 2008 event.
My Bloody Valentine secured their place in music myth with the release of “Loveless” in 1991, an ethereal classic and the template for the shoegazing genre. Their headline set on the Friday night will surely go down in Bestival folklore. Other giants comfirmed for the festival include electronic enigma Aphex Twin, Brazilian party animals C.S.S. and The Breeders. Elsewhere, such figures as 808 State, The Wedding Present and Lee “Scratch” Perry will play live, joined as ever by the best in up and coming UK talent.
A blend of live music and DJs sets, Bestival has also confirmed sets by DJ Yoda, Annie Mac, Ex-Dexy Kevin Rowland and of course, Rob Da Bank himself.
Bestival takes place on the weekend of September 5th – 7th.
