British hard rock legends Motorhead have unveiled plans for a 35th anniversary tour.
Lemmy is a living legend in the British music scene. Chucked out of legendary stoner rock gods Hawkwind for – get this – doing too many drugs, the singer simply picked himself up and formed his own group.
Taking their name from slang for a speed user, Motorhead was born. Over the course of 35 years the band have toured the world, performed on ‘Top Of The Pops’ and watched as their fan base form groups of their own.
The Californian chapter of the Motorhead fanclub was started by one Lars Ulrich, later to power Metallica to world fame.
However the British rockers aren’t ones to be overshadowed, with their live show amongst the most spectacular around. Colossal piles of amplifiers churn forth huge amounts of noise, with Motorhead running through their fist pumping back catalogue.
Due to turn 35 years old this summer, Motorhead are planning a number of events to celebrate. A film documentary on the life of Lemmy is in production, with the group themselves due to launch a huge tour.
Opening in Aberdeen Music Hall on November 8th, the fifteen date tour will take in all corners of Britain. Climaxing with a show in Brighton on November 28th tickets for the tour are on sale now.
In addition to this, Motorhead plan to assault the British festival season with a performance confirmed for this summer’s Download Festival.
