Morrissey Re-Arranges American Tour

Including one off show with Patti Smith

Morrissey has announced re-arranged plans for his current American tour.

It's been a mixed year for Morrissey. The NME withdrew from a court battle with the singer, but the indie icon's struggle to secure a label willing to fund his next endeavour goes on.

Kicking off a lengthy North American tour, Morrissey made a number of high profile television appearances. However the singer's mother became poorly, forcing Morrissey to postpone the tour and return to England in order to be by her side.

Now the songwriter has revealed details of those re-arranged shows. Kicking off on January 9th in Long Island, the 32 date city tour contains a few surprises along the way – notably a joint concert between Morrissey and the Patti Smith Band.

A continual advocate for Smith's work over the years, the one off show at the Staples Center in Los Angeles finds Morrissey pairing up with one of his most cherished artists. Tantalisingly, a press release on True To You explains: "Morrissey will perform greatest hits from his legendary catalog as well as new unreleased songs."
