Morrissey has been forced to cancel a series of South American shows after contracting food poisoning.
Morrissey might not have a label, but he does still have his fans. The iconic singer completed a North American tour earlier this year, with sporadic health difficulties interrupting the high profile shows.
Focussing his sights on South America, the one time Smiths frontman arranged a number of shows. However it seems that Morrissey's ill luck has returned with the songwriter coming down with food poisoning.
As NME point out, local reports indicate that Morrissey has become unwell forcing the postponement of several dates. One South American source even suggests that the singer has returned to the UK for specialist attention but this has yet to be verified.
The news comes a matter of days after Morrissey posted a joyous note celebrating the opening of the tour. Writing on True To You the singer said:
"I am humbled beyond belief by the reception here in Lima, Peru, and also by the ongoing welcome. For me, it is incredible – once more. If Chile, Argentina and Brazil are as giving, I shall ask no more and die happy. Peru, Peru – my heart's lighthouse."
