Helsinki’s premier music festival Flow has announced this morning that they have added My Bloody Valentine and Grimes to their line up. These two compliment an already stellar bill including Kraftwerk, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Beach House, The Knife, Todd Terje, Disclosure, Hudson Mohawke and many more.
Celebrating its tenth birthday this year, Flow will take place between 7th – 11th August in the historic Suvilahti, a looming disused power plant, located in the heart of the capital.
My Bloody Valentine recently returned after a 22 year hiatus with their album m v b, and will now perform for the first time ever in Finland at the festival. Their previous record, 1991's Loveless, has become an undeniable classic.
One of 2012’s standout successes, Grimes will be bringing her own twist on reality to the festival, in the form of her massive 2012 album Visions. A mainstay in almost very top 10 album chart of 2012, Visions is an album of many layers and emotions, crossing from poignant, heartfelt lyrics to club friendly numbers.
Also added to the bill is New York garage rock band, Parquet Courts and Junip, the band fronted by the master of timeless folk José González.
Beyond the music, Flow offers a warm embrace of the arts, offering art displays from Scandinavia and abroad as well as showcasing art house film, cinema, lectures and an exceptional array of world cuisine.
