Europe's most vital live music showcase, delegate conference and industry platform, Eurosonic Noorderslag, next year takes place in Groningen between January 14th – 17th.
In addition to the tens of thousands of ardent music fans who attend annually, it attracts a host of industry professionals keen to discover new talent.
Next year's event – now in it's stately 29th year – will focus on Iceland, with performances by Icelandic artists and a special focus on the Icelandic music scene and industry.
The details of this focus Iceland Erupts were announced during a press conference at Iceland Airwaves last week.
Airwaves is the premier Nordic festival experience, based in the capital of Reykjavik, which draws in visitors from all over the world. Therefore, the perfect place to announce acts who run the gamut from intimate singer songwriting and avant garde electronica, to power pop, Viking metal and far beyond.
The acts appearing in January are: Low Roar, Kaleo, Kiasmos, Júníus Meyvant, Rökkurró, Samaris, Sóley, Vök, Árstíðir, dj. flugvél og geimskip, Fufanu, MBand, Óbó, Skálmöld, Sólstafir, Tonik Ensemble, Ylja and Young Karin (pictured).
