Mona have outlined plans for an extensive UK tour including a headline show at the Shepherd’s Bush Empire.
What do Morrissey and Kings of Leon have in common? Well, the Followills aren’t about to turn vegetarian and it’s doubtful if the Minstrel of Melancholy is set to take up a life of drink and debauchery.
So there can be only one answer: Mona. One of the year’s hardest working groups, the Nashville based outfit have stayed on the road for virtually every waking hour of 2011 thus far.
Fixing up the tour van, the band seem to understand that if they want to make it then they’d better graft. Completing two sold out UK tours, Mona returned home to the United States to show off their debut album.
Supporting both Morrissey and Kings of Leon (a-ha! there’s the connection!) the band have played to countless fans across the UK and beyond. Arranging a new headline tour, Mona are set to play some of their largest shows yet.
Due to close the summer with an appearance at Reading and Leeds, Mona will big farewell to a festival season which has seen them perform at The Great Escape, T In The Park and Glastonbury.
Opening on October 27th, the upcoming shows kick off with a visit to Manchester. Playing the Academy 3, Mona will also perform in Nottingham and Brighton.
Visiting London on October 28th, the band will headline the O2 Shepherds Bush Empire. The largest headline show Mona have played to date, it is the culmination of almost 12 months hard graft.
Ending the short run of dates in Brighton on October 31st, the shows end in the city’s Komedia venue.
Tickets for all venues go on sale from 9am on Friday (August 19th) but fans will be able to take part in a special pre-sale. Opening at 9am tomorrow (August 16th) you can purchase the tickets in advance from this link.
