Modest Mouse Dublin Show

Seattle group return

Hugely acclaimed Seattle group Modest Mouse have confirmed details of a new show in Dublin.

Modest Mouse formed as a shambling post-Pavement outfit by a group of schoolkids in Seattle. With the city recovering from the hangover of grunge and plaid shirted nightmare that scene became, the band opted for something a little more subtle.

Deeply experimental Modest Mouse emerged from the independent scene and have never lost their DIY roots. The band’s 2004 album ‘Good News For People Who Love Bad News’ broke them in the mainstream, with its literate brand of indie rock.

Joining up with one time Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr for their follow up, Modest Mouse released ‘We Were Dead Before The Ship Even Sank’ in 2007. A huge success it was followed by lengthy touring.

Since then fans have been kept waiting for new material, although Modest Mouse did released a four track EP titled ‘No One’s First And You’re Next’ comprising rare material from their previous albums last month.

With Modest Mouse recently confirming a series of UK tour dates the band have decided to add Dublin to their itinerary. Due to play Dublin Academy on December 7th tickets for the show will go on sale on September 30th.

Of course, fans are immediately wondering if Johnny Marr will be able to join them. Since working with Modest Mouse the guitarist has since hooked up with The Cribs helping record their new album ‘Ignore The Ignorant’.

Modest Mouse are due to play:
