Michael Jackson O2 Details

Ten night stand announced

Pop superstar Michael Jackson has announced a ten night residency at the O2 Arena in London.

The one time ‘King Of Pop’ made the announcement at a press conference yesterday afternoon (March 6th) held at the main entrance of the O2 Arena. Thousands of fans waited for hours to catch a glimpse of the singer, and were joined by representatives from the world’s media.

Jackson was widely expected to announce a residency, and he didn’t let fans down by confirming ten shows with the tagline ‘This Is IT’. Tickets for the concerts will no doubt be like gold-dust, and will go on sale at March 13th at 7am.

The singer was introduced by television presenter Dermot O’Leary, and emerged wearing a huge pair of sunglasses. Telling the crowd he “loved them from the bottom of my heart” Jackson went on to hint at what form the shows would take.

Telling the crowd the concerts would have “the songs the fans want to hear” Jackson hinted at a greatest hits set. The singer also suggested that he may retire after the shows, saying “this is it, these will be my last shows in London”.

He added: “When I say this, I really mean this. This is it.”

Rob Hallett President International Touring of AEG Live who operate the arena declared: “We are delighted to facilitate the return of The King of Pop, long may he reign! Michael at The 02 this summer will surely be the highlight of the musical year. When Michael Jackson performs, the eyes of the world will be watching.”

Michael Jackson is set to play a residency at the O2 Arena.
