Returning King Of Pop Michael Jackson has unveiled the dates of his forthcoming residency in the O2 Arena.
This Is It. No going back, no substitutes and definitely no sequel. Michael Jackson’s return seems to have captured the imagination of the British public, with his ten night stand becoming the most anticipated live music event in some time.
Possibly not since Oasis at Knebworth have so many applied for so few tickets. Since announcing the dates Jackson’s website has been bombarded with traffic, at one point recording more than 15,000 hits per second.
Promising a ‘Greatest Hits’ set, this could well be a pop milestone, given that Jackson’s back catalogue is perhaps the finest of any solo artist on the planet.
Opening on July 8th, the ‘Thriller’ star will perform ten shows working until July 28th. Thousands of fans have registered for tickets, which could well be the singer’s last show in Britain.
Much rumour has surrounded the shows since the announcement, with some commentators believing that it is only a matter of time before Michael Jackson expands the dates. Some have even put the final amount as high as fifty shows.
Michael Jackson will perform the following dates:
