Brighton based Metronomy have confirmed a series of British tour dates this January.
Metronomy began life crafting experimental electronica, in keeping with many musicians on the south coast. Based in Brighton, the band’s early material is thought provoking yet often difficult to take.
Swapping various members, Metronomy released their pop-friendly album ‘Lights Out’ in 2008. Sure, the material was still cerebral yet the experimental urges were tempered by a real sense of fun.
Becoming a cult success, Metronomy grew in stature. Touring across Europe and beyond, the band retreated to their home studio last year to begin working on new material which should be released shortly.
The band are putting the finishing touches to a new album, with the first batch of fresh material set to land in the New Year.
To whet appetites, Metronomy have arranged a quickfire UK tour. Moving across the country, the band will open the tour with a show at Glasgow’s legendary King Tuts venue on January 20th.
Dates in Leeds and Liverpool are set to follow, before the band hit London’s Heaven nightclub on January 25th. Finishing in Tunbridge Wells on January 28th the tour should see new material being introduced.
Tickets for the shows are on sale now.
