Metronomy Confirm UK Tour Dates

Third album almost complete

Metronomy have confirmed a series of British tour dates for the opening weeks of 2011.

Centred on Joe Mount, Metronomy are in an almost continual state of flux. Beginning as a glitch heavy electronic mob, the band soon discovered their flair for catchy, memorable synth-pop.

Becoming cult heroes, 2008’s ‘Nights Out’ was greeted with applause from critics. Considerably boosting the band’s profile, Metronomy took their muscular live show on the road.

Retreating to the safety of the recording studio earlier this year, Joe Mount began assembling new material. However the group began to fragment with the new line up of Metronomy now containing Anna Prior on drums, Gbenga Adelekan on bass, original member Oscar Cash on keys/sax alongside Joe Mount.

Set to return with their third album early next year, Metronomy have also managed to fit in a spot of soundtrack work. The Brighton based group teamed up with Ferry Gouw for the Barbican’s recent Bicycle Film Festival, working on a short film.

Metronomy supplied the soundtrack, with the entire film available to stream HERE.

The upcoming shows open in Manchester on January 19th. Taking place at the Deaf Institute, the date will be followed by performances in Glasgow, Leeds, Southampton, Liverpool and more.

Ending in Tunbridge Wells on January 28th, the new shows should see Metronomy display their new material.

Tickets are on sale now.
