Newcastle indie types Maximo Park are due to release their new album ‘Quicken The Heart’ in May.
Maximo Park have been away for far too long. Previous album ‘Our Earthly Pleasures’ was released in 2007 to great acclaim from fans, who flocked to the group’s massive UK tour.
The band retreated to the recording studio to work on their new material with renowned producer Nick Launay. Moving to Los Angeles to complete the album, the twelve track album is said to contain the energy of Maximo Park’s early singles.
The devotion of the group’s fans is something to behold. In their native Newcastle Maximo Park are held in such high esteem that local brewer Newcastle Brown Ale even brought out a special edition beer dedicated to the band, which became a massive seller.
